Otherwise, these lights are a one-night show. I love them, had them for over two years and still going strong.
I had high hopes.
Normally, it takes at least a day to absorb sufficient sun rays to work at night. Placed the 3 Malibu Solar Flood lamps to illuminate an American flag on a tall pole, they light it up fine, happy with the effect and they stay lit all night. All around I think they are a good purchase for gentle lighting. Highly recommended for under thirty dollars and free shipping from Amazon. I started off with just one light plugged into the solar panel for a week. Very simple! Very pleased with the product.
I ordered these, a set from Heartland America, and a set from Moonrays. Maybe in another few years companies like Intermatic will better understand that people want at least as much light on their paths and steps as a single AA battery flashlight can cast. These Malibu spotlights work great. Those that thought these didn’t put out much light must not have looked at the furnished pictures to see what they did.
To refer to these as “floodlights” is to misrepresent this product.
About these lights in specific: I use these lights to light a 10′ by 14′ back porch. I strongly suggest making this kind of survey before installing the lights. Thanks in advance. Mounted about 7 feet up, these lights do not give a light bright enough to distract from sleeping, but do easily provide enough light for safe walking around. I am really not happy with this item. Brightness, well ‘ok’ not flashlight bright, but close. Otherwise, these lights are a one-night show.
The solar panel provides enough charge to burn all through lights (3 LEDs each) all night and they’re still burning bright come morning. I originally bought one set of these. And, they don’t seem to attract bugs – what more could you ask for? I liked these well enough, I added two sets to light up the front porch and walk way. One light can very dimly light up a 2ft by 2ft hanging sun garden decoration, about 4 feet away.
You can stab them in the ground again and again and the plastic point does not bend LANDSCAPING PLANNER.
