When you are considering which model of petrol hedge trimmer to purchase, the blade length is one of the most important factors. To avoid getting the wrong type of machine for your particular requirements, you need to consider carefully the types of jobs you need to get done in your garden.

Basically, hedge trimmer blades can be categorised into one of three groups.

1. The type of blade action. Will you be using your hedge trimmer for extended periods of time? By choosing a model with double action blades, that is blades that move in opposite directions, you will eliminate many of the operator problems such as aching back and shoulders and fatigue when using the machine for prolonged periods of time.

2.	The thickness of the material that you need to cut through. Whilst no hedge trimmer, even the most powerful petrol hedge trimmer, is designed to be used as a chain saw, if you have a lot of twiggy branches to cut, you will need a more powerful model with wider teeth blades.

3. It is worth remembering though that this extra efficiency comes at a cost and longer blade machines are more difficult to use and heavier to operate. A hedge trimmer with really long blades can be very difficult to work with if you have tricky shaping work to do on your hedge.

Adding pond lights to a water feature in your garden can be a great way to make it a strong centerpiece by night. Whether you want to host parties in your garden, enjoying barbecuing in the summer months or just like to walk around it in the evenings, adding illumination will transform the atmosphere and make an attractive visual display.

Once you have decided to install lamps to your water feature, the next step is to decide what kind you will use. There are a variety of ways in which you can illuminate your pool, each of which create a different atmosphere and visual effect. Think about what you want the area to look like by night, and which features you want to highlight.

One of the easiest ways to add lights is to use standard garden lamps by the side of the pool. These can shine their beams over the surface of the water, illuminating the ripples and also drawing attention to any plants and trees you may have planted in the vicinity.

There are also various styles of lamp available that are waterproof, and can be placed below the surface to shine upwards through the water. This can make for a subtle, almost mystical atmosphere which is likely to be a good centrepiece of the garden at night. If your pond has fish in it these lamps can also serve to illuminate them, adding further interest to the night time landscape of your garden.

Lights that float on the surface of the water are another interesting choice, and they can be found in a variety of different styles to suit any kind of garden. These lamps light up the surface of the water very softly with a gentle glow, and are powered by solar energy so they are very easy to use. They can create a very unique look for your water feature that is likely to be a talking point.

After choosing what kind of lights to use, there is the question of color. Plain white lamps are one option, but there are also plenty of brightly colored bulbs available for outdoor and underwater use that can provide a wide range of effects. Particularly attractive atmospheres can be created with blue and green bulbs, but it is possible to get lamps in almost any color that you can imagine.

If you have a moving water feature such as a fountain or waterfall in your pond, lights can be used to great effect to highlight this motion in the dark. The beam can be directed at the moving water to draw attention to its motion, and the use of colored lamps in this situation is particularly effective.

The use of pond lights in a pool or water feature can add a whole new dimension to your garden, making it a great place to be during the night as well as in the daytime. Whatever style, color and positioning you choose, you will be able to enjoy the view and atmosphere that they provide once the sun goes down.

With True Pump’s complete line of pond lights enjoying your garden is easy – day or night!

Also known as instant shades, portable shades are structures which are designed to be easily carried around and can provide a user with instant shade on the fly. They are generally lighter than their fixed counterparts such as outdoor window shades, as a result can be a bit more flimsy and easy to break. However, this is compensated by the fact that portable shades can be stored in small spaces and assembled with a minimum of effort.

The reasons why people use portable shades are quite varied. A lot of use is devoted to recreational purposes starting from home. A party held in the backyard sometimes spills over into the lawn or other unshaded areas. Near the house there may be an awning or pergola, but far from the house the guests become exposed to the sun. To protect the guests portable shades can be quickly brought out and set up. There are also people who use portable shades primarily for business.

We describe a few of the portable shades for each of the occasions described above.

A regular awning is a shade that hangs on a truss over the window or door on the exterior of a building. It provides shade near these entry points which reduces the heat from entering the house, much as bamboo roll up blinds on the exterior of a window helps keep the house cool. Portable awnings are similar in the respect that they are a shade stretched over a frame that sits on four wheels. They can be transported from spot to spot. When placed into position the angle of the shade can be adjusted for to the liking of the users beneath.

For those who are near a pool, one option is to stick with the table umbrellas. However, another possibility is the cabana. A portable cabana is essentially a mini housing structure with fabric top and walls on a little building frame, large enough to accommodate one or two people. The primary role is either for a few people to be able to sit in an area protected from wind and sun, or for people to change into and out of regular clothes.

Slightly different from awnings are outdoor canopy shades which are freestanding structures that resemble large, standing-room tents. These can be placed onto a porch where it would be called a deck canopy. Although this is a freestanding shade, it is considered fixed because of the enormous time and effort required to set one up. In contrast, portable canopies are very lightweight, but lack the fabric walls that surround fixed canopies. The canopy roof is usually the only fabric in the portable versions.

For people who are interested in tailgate parties or similar events where a vehicle is a center of entertainment, a portable umbrella mounted onto a hitch may be the perfect solution. A metal frame and hitch can be attached to a truck or van onto which the umbrella can be mounted. The umbrella can be closed when the vehicle is in motion, and when stopped for entertainment, the umbrella can be opened.

Using windmills for homes is the right solution for a number of situations. Maybe an individual wants an electricity source for a remote cabin or beach house. Running power lines can cost thousands of dollars. Making use of an alternative power source can remove these concerns. Certain homeowners may simply wish to reduce costs for electrical power. Other individuals have concerns about the natural environment and burning of fossil fuel.

One important factor for installation is positioning of the equipment. It should be positioned up high, where it will receive the best wind. This can be a high spot on the ground, on the roof or on a tower. In some cases, installation might require the assistance of a professional who is familiar with how to place the device.

Wind speed is yet another consideration when utilizing windmills for homes. In coastal regions, this device is very likely to rotate a lot faster, producing more power. Those who have neighbors may have concerns about the noise. A device that spins slowly is going to make much less noise. It will in addition produce much less power.

Prior to considering the installation of the wind power device, it is actually best to check with local regulations. Certain communities and homeowner associations could bar using such devices. A number of towns and cities may have laws governing the height of any structures on a property. Even when you can find no existing laws, neighbors could try to get laws passed to ban the devices. It is best to prepare for those occasions, by checking all laws and if possible, getting a permit.

Currently, only the horizontal device is commonly utilized to generate electricity. The technology exists for vertical designs, which might very soon be developed for home usage. The distinction is where the generator is positioned. The horizontal designs have blades positioned right in front of the generator. On a vertical style, the blades sit a little bit above the generator. The vertical device could be much more challenging, as the noise could interrupt activities inside the house. They may be a much easier alternative for property owners, as a result of being positioned much closer to the ground.

A typical ready made unit can cost thousands. There are plenty of plans offered for all those who are handy to make their own windmills for homes. Knowing the basic components needed is the starting point. The rotor blades catch the wind. When it turns the shaft, a series of magnets send energy to produce power in a wire. A person setting up the device needs to fully understand the right way to connect the device to the house’s electrical system. This may call for inspection by the local energy company or possibly a specialist. The unit will have to be grounded for safety during an electrical storm.

Mold isn’t something that you ever want to have take hold in your home. Mold doesn’t look pretty, causes major health issues and can do major damage to your home. You need to be on the defensive in your home at the first sign of mold attack it aggressively. The longer the mold is there the more permanent damage will occur. Is there a simple way to get rid of it, well of course there is. Don’t trust a simple cleanser to do the job they don’t often work well enough. See below for some helpful mold removal tips to ensure a mold free living space.

One of the most important things that you should do if you want to eliminate mold is to check your home. This means that you have to look in more places besides walls or ceilings. You must get as far deep into your home as you possibly can. Lift every knick knack, book and keepsake. Investigate every spot on your furniture. Carefully, look over all sections of your floors, walls and ceilings. Concentrate on the cracks and the corners. Be very careful when you go around the edge of windows and electrical outlets. Inspect behind all appliances.

All areas that have any indication of mold have to be cleaned and de molded. Make sure that the mold has been completely removed before returning all furniture or decorations. Some materials like leather for instance should not be bleached, and vinegar isn’t very effective on them but you can use rubbing alcohol to get the same effect. If you have a sensitive surface you don’t want to damage the rubbing alcohol can be just the trick you need since it’s non damaging to many surfaces but will kill the mold. Make sure, though, that you keep kids and pets away from these spaces until the alcohol has dried completely. Alcohol is harmful to humans and animals, so you don’t want to take any risks.

This is where you are less likely to catch it before it infests the structure of your home. When the gutters get dirty they can grow more things than mold. Anything that lives in a dirty gutter can’t be good.

Because mold and mildew thrive in damp dark places you can use sunlight to help dry them out and kill mold spores. Sunlight is bright and dries things out which makes it impossible for the mold to continue growing. Furniture that can’t be treated with product can be set in the sun to dry out and kill mold for many hours but don’t leave it out overnight. Mold will miraculously disappear!

As you can see there are many things you can do to kill mold that may be trying to overtake your home. All you have to do is take corrective measures early on.

We all have those jars and tins of herbs and spices. You know, the ones that sit up in the cupboard and only make the occasional appearance when you roast a chicken or bake a pumpkin pie. Did you know these herbs can lend a lot of flavor to lots of dishes you make? It is true. Therefore, dust off those tins and bottles and put those herbs to good use.

Lots of herbs go well with meat dishes. Poultry is a great base for thyme, rosemary, tarragon, and sage. What would the Thanksgiving turkey be without sage dressing? That is right. Lots of flavor in these green allies from the garden. Beef can stand up to some robust flavors. For beef, consider anise, with its licorice-like flavor, dill, fennel, marjoram, mint, and oregano.

Herbs can even help eggs. Nutmeg is a wonderful complement to eggs. Cinnamon works well in egg custards. Allspice is another one that works well with eggs. For those who like some spice with their eggs, think about adding cayenne, curry powder, or chili powder.

Do you like to cook Asian food? Stock up on cinnamon, curry, cardamom and ginger. These spices add a little heat and a lot of exotic flavor. Your meals will taste better than ever! Saffron is another spice used a lot in Asia. It is expensive, but is often used to turn the food a bright yellow as well as adding flavor.

What about dessert? Herbs and spices can do a lot for your dessert recipes. You can use saffron, mace, mint, coriander, allspice, nutmeg, or cinnamon in your baking and other sweet cooking. Your desserts offer a little more pizzazz and flavor.

When you are working with a cold appetizer recipe, do not forget the herbs! Add a touch of turmeric to your dips and relishes or a little cardamom to your dressings and fruit cups. Just because you are making simple cold dishes, do not leave out the seasoning. It makes all the difference between a great tasting appetizer and one that merely sits on the plate.

Have you ever wondered what is the deal with that bottle of celery seed you see at the market? Celery seed really does add a lot of flavor to a dish. Sprinkle it on your roasts, in your sauces and in your stews. Let it add some zing to your salads, vegetable dishes, breads, and eggs.

There are a few other herbs you may not know what to do with. Bay leaves look like long, flat leaves stuck in a jar. These are excellent to add to soups and stews. You can also use them with potatoes, fish, gravies, and marinades. You do want to remove the bay leaf before you serve the food. This is one herb that gives of its flavor and then is discarded.

Another one you may not know much about is cloves. Sure, they were stuck in the holiday ham every year, or maybe you stuck them in an orange and hung it up for the holidays. Cloves are also excellent in pastries, cookies, and pork and lamb dishes. Try adding some to vegetables and dressings. You do not have to get whole cloves; look for ground cloves instead. It is much easier to use.

Making uncomplicated Superbowl party recipes means that you can prepare all your snacks well in advance and relax with your guests when the game starts. There are lots of Superbowl recipes to choose from and meat snacks, like chicken wings, ribs and hot dogs, are always incredibly popular. You will find hundreds of quick uncomplicated appetizers at our website to give you some more ideas.

We cannot deny that there are a few parts of the home that seem to look empty and must be decorated right. It is true that every homemaker needs to exert an effort to make sure that everyone would be pleased with his or her home. It makes a person more certain that he or she is doing the right job. The ornamentation of one’s home must be something that everyone will like and love. If you have this ongoing project to beautify your home, then maybe this can help you out. Get the tiffany lamps ready and the other things that are necessary to making a dull and lifeless corner be transformed into a beautiful and cozy one.

The number one thing that you must do is to determine the purpose of the place. There are a lot of times when you get an empty place because you have it used in a way that is different from its supposed purpose. For instance, you use a corner of your living room to be used as a study corner. You have two contradicting interests and purposes there. How are you going to watch TV when the kids are going to study there and how will they be able to study if the TV is very near? Instead of making things even worse, then you better get that empty space be used for something else such as putting up a bar or a pop corn station that will always be nice for those family bonding moments in front of the TV.

Second, you have to make sure that you do not overdo things. Well, have you ever checked how many tables have you placed in the entire house just yet? Remember that it is never going to be healthy if you put the same element repeatedly. With the corner that you want to arrange, do away with those elements. Instead of tables, for instance, you could add a loveseat or other things that could still occupy a space and could be used for different functions.

Third, deliver the aesthetic values you want to deliver. It is never right that you will just let things get too crowded or too plain. Remember that you want to revive the place to make it more functional and not to serve as another place for clutter again. Maybe adding tiffany lamps and a flower vase would do the trick.

Fourth, you need to make sure that you get the furniture pieces fit to the theme that you have. Well, have you ever seen a place with all the modern set-up but with big wingback chairs on them? That may just look weird and surely, you would not want to do that same mistake. Then, you may get the furniture that fits your needs.

Lastly, you have to make sure that you keep that area serve its purpose. If you have set up a family game room, then you should make sure that the family would use it for fun games and leisure activities. What purpose would there be to it when nobody is using it right?

Then perhaps you have seen that there are not so many stuff that you will need. Maybe you have to buy tiffany lamps or other additions to complete the look of the room however, with a little imagination you could certainly do so much especially when you already have all of the things that are necessary to redesigning a space.

Tiffany Lamps enhance the appearance of your homes through its very intricate design and style. Its illumination provides the required amount of light necessary for a room. It also exudes glamour and elegance. Or you may want to try table lamp.

Bamboo fencing is a perfect way to dress up your outdoor space. But it’s not limited to outside. Rolled bamboo has a place indoors as well, where it is used in window dressings and as decorative room dividers. Primarily though rolled bamboo fencing is used to create truly unique looks around gardens or patio.

A rolled bamboo fence is strong and durable. In fact, the heavier rolled bamboo is as strong as cedar. Bamboo can last upwards of twenty years if maintained properly. It should be treated like wood products to prevent cracking and drying.

For outdoor fencing, rolled bamboo needs to be supported on a rigid structure or frame. It can either be applied to an existing fence or as part of a new fence.

If it is being applied to a fence that is already in place, the roll needs to be attached. The easiest way to attach it to a wooden fence is with stainless steel or galvanized heavy duty staples using a staple gun. These types of staples won’t rust and mark up your fencing. Be sure to apply the staples over the existing wire that holds the rolled fencing together, in order to hide the staples.

Applying a roll of bamboo to a chain link fence is even easier. You simply use galvanized wire to tie the rolled bamboo to the chain linking. Tie the wire at intervals of four or five inches to the top, middle and bottom. Be sure to hide that wire by sliding it under the wire holding the bamboo together.

If you are using rolled bamboo for a new fencing project, first make a frame to support the bamboo. You will need to use wood posts to put in the ground. Add the top and the bottom rails and run some smaller wooden boards horizontally as well. This is what you will attach the bamboo material to. You can attach it in the same way as you would for an existing wooden fence.

Once attached to a frame you may notice that the bamboo fencing rolls overlap. It can and should be trimmed to fit, using pruning sheers or a miter saw. Bamboo is a grass, not a type of wood, so it will break down if it comes in direct contact with the ground. That’s the purpose for the frame and for using wooden posts in the ground.

There is a huge variety in rolled bamboo fencing. You can find everything from split bamboo to solid, along with woven patterns. Your most difficult decision may be to decide on the look you want. Whatever you decide, you can be assured that there will be bamboo fencing that can help you achieve that look.

For a truly unique fencing solution, why not consider bamboo fencing. Bamboo fence panels make installation easy. Panels come in a variety of sizes and patterns. Choose from rolled bamboo fencing or split bamboo fencing.

The tomato plant is one of the first plants that any young gardener learns how to take care of. Growing them is fairly easy, but even the most seasoned gardener knows that plants can die without the proper care, just like any other living thing. Taking care of your plants and making sure that they receive adequate amounts of nutrients, water, and sun is crucial to having a productive garden.

One of the first things that you need to know is that you should plant the tomatoes deep into the ground. Part of the stalk should be under the dirt, as well, so the plant develops a strong root system. This will prevent the plant from falling over as it matures later in its life cycle. This makes a big difference when you decide to plant. If planting them in containers, make sure you get one big enough for the plant when it reaches maturity.

The amount of water that you give your plants and the time of day that you water them can have a serious effect on their lifespan and productivity. Never water your plants when they are in the hot afternoon sun, because this can scald the leaves and kill them. Plants appearing wilted in the afternoon sun is normal, however wilted plants in the morning is a sign of dehydration. You also want to avoid watering your plants too much; if there is standing water left in the pot after watering them, you have watered too much. Always make sure your containers have drains in them so the excess water can drain out.

Many gardeners use egg shells to produce great tomatoes, because the shells contain calcium and other proteins that tomatoes and other plants will love. Egg shells also help keep cats and other pests like slugs out of your garden because the sharp shells will irritate them, causing them to leave. Boil the egg shells to remove bacteria and then allow them to dry before placing them in a zipper bag and crushing them with a rolling pin. When you’re ready, add them to your garden soil. If you have a compost bin, you can skip this and just put the shells into it instead.

Tomatoes can definitely be grown in containers, but you need to give the plant plenty of room for the roots to grow later in the plant’s life. If the root system becomes crowded, it will negatively affect your plant’s growth and ability to produce fruit long term. A raised garden could be an answer if you don’t want to put your tomatoes directly into the ground due to the poor soil in your area. Remember that in a raised garden, you can control the soil’s nutrient content much better than you can with the dirt that is found naturally on your property.
