Aqua Globes – A Non-Bias Review

by Sarah Page

As Seen on TV is notorious for creating products that deliver fixes to everyday problems. However, sometimes their products are too good to be true – and often labeled as scams. Their latest product to receive a lot of hype is the Aqua Globes. This product is the most efficient, effortless way to keep your plants watered all of the time. However, should Aqua Globe be added to the list of products to avoid?

The Aqua Globe is a glass ornament that will water your plants for you. It contains a glass bulb that is connected to a long stem. This stem is injected into the soil of your plant and as the soil dries, the Aqua Globe will refresh it with a quick burst of water. Aqua Globe says that they can keep a plant perfectly watered for two weeks without you having to lift a finger.

After reading those claims, you may believe that this simple little product is too good to be true. Let’s break it down and understand why the Aqua Globe works. When the soil of your plant dries, oxygen is released. This oxygen will then creep up the stem of the Aqua Globe. When this infiltration occurs, space is created from the dropper. Then water escapes and the hole closes again. This is why the Aqua Globe keeps your plant.

Do the Aqua Globes work? From my experience with the product I can say yes. There is a little responsibility required on your part. You must keep the bulb refilled every 2 weeks and you must make sure to not have dirt clogging the end of the stem. You can get around this by poking the hole first with a pencil and then inserting the stem. Other than that, it’s self-sustaining.

One obstacle that you must come to terms with is the appearance of the product. Make sure that you are content with having the bulb where your plants are. I like the way they look, but some may not. If you do you believe they take away visual value, then you should be ok.

As far as functionality, the Aqua Globe is unsurpassed. This truly makes having great plants a breeze. I always receive compliments on my plants and many believe that I do a lot to keep them looking so healthy. Truthfully, I am lazy and simply use the Aqua Globe. But hey, who’s complaining?
